Social Commenting

I was researching blog platforms today and was really surprised at how many of them still lack social commenting features. I've used many of them over the years, but I wanted to see how far some of them had come in terms of social integration. I think all blog platforms should have Facebook and Twitter commenting built in by now. Yet many still lack this, and some require complex add-on's and plug-in's to get it all working.

One of the simplest to set up was Wordpress, and Disqus wasn't too bad either. But even these can be a little clunky out of the box. For me, the commenting solution should be completely hassle free. There should be the minimum amount of logging in required, and the minimum amount of steps to get the comment in place and shared onto a social network.

Maybe I'm being a little hard on the solutions out there, but I really think it can be made slicker. It's ok for someone who is technically minded to site and tinker on the setup for a few hours, but for those who don't know how to edit HTML and JavaScript it can be a little much. These solutions definitely need to become simpler and better integrated out of the box.

So what's your experience? What platform, hosted or otherwise, do you think has the best social integration today..?
